Furniture selection for children’s room. What factors should be taken into consideration?

The selection of furniture for children’s room is a very pleasant, but at the same time quite a difficult task. The furniture must of course be attractive, anyhow the most important feature of children’s furniture is safety. This is why the selection of children’s furniture becomes difficult. You can make an easier choice if you follow the rules below:

Color choice

The color choice for children’s room is very important. Especially at an early age colors play a major role in the child development process and as the little ones spend most of the time in the room, the colors naturally have an impact on their psychological development. As children grow, the color choice becomes easier. Taking into consideration the child’s temperament, it is possible to choose the right colors that will promote the child’s mental development. For example, for little melancholics, it is advisable to choose brown, grey and yellow colors and make accents with brighter colors. The little phlegmatics are positively affected by red and orange shades. It is desirable to "fill" the room with the details of these shades. For sanguine children the ideal color is purple. For younger cholerics, shades of blue, green and blue are preferred.

The material selection

The furniture of children’s room should be durable, safe and environmentally friendly. Taking into account these factors, it is advisable to choose wooden furniture. Wooden furniture is both beautiful and durable. The only drawback is probably the relatively high cost. Pine wood furniture is more affordable, anyhow it is easily damaged, so in case you have an active or a naughty child cracks and injuries are unavoidable.

If, however, you do not want wooden furniture for the children's room, you can choose DSR. Of course, DSR furniture is not durable, besides it emits toxic substances. Furniture designed for children should not be less than E1 grade. In this case, the toxic substances released are minimal and have no adverse effect on health.

By the way, CGP is relatively safe material. It is environmentally friendly, not harmful to health. Thus it is not a bad choice.

Ergonomics

Furniture must be fully compatible with the child's age. It is not recommended to buy larger furniture for children just to save money. This creates discomfort for the child. A childrens' wardrobe, for example, should not be 1.8 m high and 50- 55 cm deep.

Playing corners

The children's room needs to be well planned and furnished so that there is at least a small corner to play. Playing is important for child development and this must not be overlooked by any means.

At last, safety, functionality and ecological cleanliness are the most important prerequisites for furnishing a children's room.

In order not to waste much time and money looking for the best choice, we recommend choosing furniture from our varied and high quality assortment of children’s furniture.
